Law Link

From Confusion to Connection

Challenge

Law Clinic Finder

About the prototype

Law Link guides users from everyday legal problems to suitable student law clinics through AI-supported, explainable matching. Law Link is a guided AI-powered web-based prototype that connects people with legal problems to the right student law clinic in Germany. This is done in minutes, in plain language, with no prior legal knowledge required. Users describe their legal situation in plain language. AI classifies the legal area, generates targeted follow-up questions specific to what has been described, checks eligibility, and filters by location converging on a single best-fit clinic with a clear explanation of why it fits. The matched request is submitted directly to the clinic, which accepts, refers to a better-suited clinic, or declines, with the user notified of the outcome, required documents, and a named caseworker contact all within the platform. Unlike existing clinic websites, which are purely informational, Law Link actively routes cases and provides the referral infrastructure the clinic network currently lacks. It is free for clients, bilingual in German and English, and requires no installation.
